Plane provides sprints, backlogs, cycles, and epics for software teams. View tasks in a kanban board, table, or timeline, plan work in cycles such as sprints, and group tasks into epics, just like in Jira or Linear. The official All-In-One makeplane/plane-aio-community Docker image (AGPL) combines the web app, API, worker, and real-time collaboration server in one container, with PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, and file storage included. It serves a different niche from Vikunja, already in the Saplo catalog. Vikunja offers general-purpose lists, kanban boards, and Gantt charts for any type of team, while Plane focuses on work for agile development teams, including sprints, cycles, backlogs, and epics.

Plane uses 3 GB of the 6 GB memory included with Box L. That leaves 2.8 GB and 45 GB of disk space, so you can fit up to 144 more apps from the catalog. No extra charge, because you pay for the Box, not the apps themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need server administration skills?
No. We handle the container, domain, SSL certificate, and system updates. Click Plane in the dashboard, and within seconds you'll have an address and password. If you want SSH access, you'll get full access with sudo, but you don't have to use it.
What if I run out of storage or memory?
You can change your plan from the dashboard, and additional memory is added without restarting the application. You don't need to move your data or set anything up again.
Can Plane run on my own domain?
Yes. Connect your own domain or use the free saploapp.pl subdomain. The SSL certificate is generated automatically.
Who owns my data?
You do. Your data is stored in a dedicated container, not on a shared account. Every day, we make an off-site backup to a data center in Finland on every plan.
Can I run other apps alongside Plane?
Yes. The number of apps and domains in your Box is unlimited. Your plan's memory and disk space are the limits.
What if I don't like it?
Saplo.io is not live yet. We'll add you to the waiting list and let you know when the first Box plans become available.
We are not the cheapest. For 5 € a month, you can get a shared hosting plan that will be enough for a simple website. Saplo makes sense when you want to run your own apps, have SSH access, and avoid sharing your server with a thousand unrelated sites.
