n8n uses 1 GB of the 2 GB memory included with Box M. That leaves 768 MB and 21 GB of disk space, so you can fit up to 73 more apps from the catalog. No extra charge, because you pay for the Box, not the apps themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Can I set up n8n myself, for example with Docker or on Proxmox?
Yes, and it works well. You can set up n8n with a single Docker container in just a few minutes, including on your own Proxmox or Mikrus server. The difference is what happens afterward: SSL certificates, updates, backups, and what to do if the container goes down in the middle of the night. With us, all of that is handled automatically. When you self-host, you handle it yourself.
How does n8n on Saplo differ from a local desktop installation or a Mikrus setup?
n8n Desktop runs only on your computer and shuts down with it, which is fine for testing but not for automation that needs to run around the clock. Mikrus gives you a bare environment where you handle SSL, backups, and updates yourself. With us, n8n runs in a separate container with a domain, an SSL certificate, and daily backups from day one.
Is it the same Docker image as in the official n8n guide?
Yes, it runs the official n8n image in Docker underneath, with nothing custom or stripped down. We add a terminal-free panel, a domain with an SSL certificate, and backups, so you do not have to put it all together yourself.
Do I need server administration skills?
No. We handle the container, domain, SSL certificate, and system updates. Click n8n in the dashboard, and within seconds you'll have an address and password. If you want SSH access, you'll get full access with sudo, but you don't have to use it.
What if I run out of storage or memory?
You can change your plan from the dashboard, and additional memory is added without restarting the application. You don't need to move your data or set anything up again.
Can n8n run on my own domain?
Yes. Connect your own domain or use the free saploapp.pl subdomain. The SSL certificate is generated automatically.
Who owns my data?
You do. Your data is stored in a dedicated container, not on a shared account. Every day, we make an off-site backup to a data center in Finland on every plan.
Can I run other apps alongside n8n?
Yes. The number of apps and domains in your Box is unlimited. Your plan's memory and disk space are the limits.
What if I don't like it?
Saplo.io is not live yet. We'll add you to the waiting list and let you know when the first Box plans become available.
We are not the cheapest. For 5 € a month, you can get a shared hosting plan that will be enough for a simple website. Saplo makes sense when you want to run your own apps, have SSH access, and avoid sharing your server with a thousand unrelated sites.
