Frequently asked questions
Billing, cancellation, and when add-ons are worth it.
How are add-ons billed?
We bill add-ons pro rata based on the remaining paid term of your Box, so you only pay for the time you use them. When you renew, the add-on renews with the plan.
Does adding RAM or disk space require a restart?
No. RAM and disk space are added live, so your apps keep running without interruption.
Can I cancel an add-on?
Yes, in the dashboard. Charges for the add-on stop at the start of your next billing period.
How much email storage do I get without add-ons?
Every plan has its own email storage allowance, separate from website storage: from 10 GB on Box S to 80 GB on Box XXL. You can create unlimited email accounts.
Is a larger email package worth it?
Yes. The price per gigabyte drops as the package gets larger, so one large package costs less than several smaller ones with the same total capacity.
Are add-ons available on every plan?
Yes, you can purchase add-ons for any Box. If you need several at once, a larger plan is usually better value. Compare the options in the pricing calculator.
