Ghost is a blog and newsletter platform with built-in subscription payments. Write in a Notion-style editor, send emails to your readers with one click, and collect payments through your own Stripe account. It is the same open-source software behind Ghost(Pro), but without subscriber-based fees or giving a middleman a percentage of your revenue.

Ghost uses 1 GB of the 2 GB memory included with Box M. That leaves 768 MB and 23 GB of disk space, so you can fit up to 73 more apps from the catalog. No extra charge, because you pay for the Box, not the apps themselves.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from Ghost(Pro), the official hosting service for Ghost?
There is no difference in the code. It is the same open-source engine. The difference is pricing and data ownership: Ghost(Pro) bills you based on the number of subscribers, while with us you pay once a year for a Box, regardless of how many readers you have. Your database and files stay on your server.
Can I charge readers for paid subscriptions?
Yes, Ghost's built-in paid subscription support works just like it does in a self-hosted installation. You connect your own Stripe account and bill readers directly, without giving the platform a cut.
Can I migrate an existing blog from Ghost(Pro) or WordPress?
From Ghost(Pro), yes, through the built-in JSON export and import. From WordPress as well, but that involves migrating content between different engines, so it is not a one-click process. Every plan includes a free migration, so if you need help, we'll take care of it for you.
Do I need server administration skills?
No. We handle the container, domain, SSL certificate, and system updates. Click Ghost in the dashboard, and within seconds you'll have an address and password. If you want SSH access, you'll get full access with sudo, but you don't have to use it.
What if I run out of storage or memory?
You can change your plan from the dashboard, and additional memory is added without restarting the application. You don't need to move your data or set anything up again.
Can Ghost run on my own domain?
Yes. Connect your own domain or use the free saploapp.pl subdomain. The SSL certificate is generated automatically.
Who owns my data?
You do. Your data is stored in a dedicated container, not on a shared account. Every day, we make an off-site backup to a data center in Finland on every plan.
Can I run other apps alongside Ghost?
Yes. The number of apps and domains in your Box is unlimited. Your plan's memory and disk space are the limits.
What if I don't like it?
Saplo.io is not live yet. We'll add you to the waiting list and let you know when the first Box plans become available.
We are not the cheapest. For 5 € a month, you can get a shared hosting plan that will be enough for a simple website. Saplo makes sense when you want to run your own apps, have SSH access, and avoid sharing your server with a thousand unrelated sites.
