Nextcloud uses 1 GB of the 2 GB memory included with Box M. That leaves 768 MB and 23 GB of disk space, so you can fit up to 73 more apps from the catalog. No extra charge, because you pay for the Box, not the apps themselves.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from self-hosting Nextcloud on your own server?
It runs the exact same engine, open-source Nextcloud, and you can install that same code yourself. The difference is time: with us, you click Install in the panel and moments later you have a working drive with a domain and SSL certificate, instead of manually configuring a web server, database, and cron jobs.
How much space will be left for my files?
The Nextcloud engine itself takes up some of the disk space in your Box. You can see the exact amount in the section above, calculated for your chosen plan. The remaining space is available for files, and when you run out of space, you can add more storage from the panel without moving your data.
Does syncing from my computer and phone work just like in Dropbox?
Yes. The official Nextcloud apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS sync files just like the Dropbox and Google Drive clients. The difference is that your data stays on your server rather than with a third-party company.
Do I need server administration skills?
No. We handle the container, domain, SSL certificate, and system updates. Click Nextcloud in the dashboard, and within seconds you'll have an address and password. If you want SSH access, you'll get full access with sudo, but you don't have to use it.
What if I run out of storage or memory?
You can change your plan from the dashboard, and additional memory is added without restarting the application. You don't need to move your data or set anything up again.
Can Nextcloud run on my own domain?
Yes. Connect your own domain or use the free saploapp.pl subdomain. The SSL certificate is generated automatically.
Who owns my data?
You do. Your data is stored in a dedicated container, not on a shared account. Every day, we make an off-site backup to a data center in Finland on every plan.
Can I run other apps alongside Nextcloud?
Yes. The number of apps and domains in your Box is unlimited. Your plan's memory and disk space are the limits.
What if I don't like it?
Saplo.io is not live yet. We'll add you to the waiting list and let you know when the first Box plans become available.
We are not the cheapest. For 5 € a month, you can get a shared hosting plan that will be enough for a simple website. Saplo makes sense when you want to run your own apps, have SSH access, and avoid sharing your server with a thousand unrelated sites.
