Mautic is an open-source marketing automation platform - multi-stage email campaigns with conditions and delays, contact scoring, segmentation, forms, and landing pages, with no per-contact fees. We use the official mautic/mautic image with its own bundled MariaDB, and a separate cron container runs alongside the panel to send queued messages and trigger subsequent campaign stages. Without it, multi-stage campaigns will not run. We create the admin account automatically with the mautic:install command, so you can log in immediately after installation. It serves a different niche than Listmonk (also in the Saplo catalog): Listmonk is a simple newsletter sender, while Mautic offers conditional campaigns, scoring, and segmentation.

Frequently asked questions
Is Mautic free?
Yes, it is open source with no fee based on the number of contacts and no per-user fees. There is no limit on list size, which is actually the most common reason companies move from paid tools to Mautic.
What do I need to do for campaigns to start sending?
Two things. After logging in, enter your SMTP server details under Settings -> Configuration -> Email Configuration (use the mailbox in your Box, not a public-facing address) - without this, campaigns will only queue up. The second is a cron container, which Saplo sets up automatically: without it, multi-step campaigns with delays will not run, even though the dashboard looks and works normally.
How does Mautic differ from Listmonk in the Saplo catalog?
Listmonk is a simple newsletter sender - you create one list, send it, and you're done. Mautic offers full marketing automation: multi-step campaigns with conditions and delays, contact scoring, segmentation, and forms. If you only want to send newsletters, Listmonk is simpler; if you are managing a funnel, choose Mautic.
Do I need a separate database plan?
No. Mautic comes with its own MariaDB, so you do not need to purchase an additional database add-on. Everything runs on a single Box plan, and campaign and contact data are isolated from other customers.
Do I need server administration skills?
No. We handle the container, domain, SSL certificate, and system updates. Click Mautic in the dashboard, and within seconds you'll have an address and password. If you want SSH access, you'll get full access with sudo, but you don't have to use it.
What if I run out of storage or memory?
You can change your plan from the dashboard, and additional memory is added without restarting the application. You don't need to move your data or set anything up again.
Can Mautic run on my own domain?
Yes. Connect your own domain or use the free saploapp.pl subdomain. The SSL certificate is generated automatically.
Who owns my data?
You do. Your data is stored in a dedicated container, not on a shared account. Every day, we make an off-site backup to a data center in Finland on every plan.
Can I run other apps alongside Mautic?
Yes. The number of apps and domains in your Box is unlimited. Your plan's memory and disk space are the limits.
What if I don't like it?
Saplo.io is not live yet. We'll add you to the waiting list and let you know when the first Box plans become available.
We are not the cheapest. For 5 € a month, you can get a shared hosting plan that will be enough for a simple website. Saplo makes sense when you want to run your own apps, have SSH access, and avoid sharing your server with a thousand unrelated sites.
