FileBrowser is a browser-based file explorer that shows the ENTIRE app catalog of your Box, not just the folder for a single installation. You access one URL and see files from all your apps at once, just like in the File Manager in cPanel or Plesk. It uses the actively developed gtsteffaniak/filebrowser fork, as the original filebrowser/filebrowser project was archived in September 2026, and runs from the gtstef/filebrowser Docker image. You get your own account with a randomly generated password during installation, with no external sign-up required. It serves a different niche from MinIO, an S3 API for objects rather than a file system for your Box, Pingvin Share, which provides one-time links to large files, and Nextcloud. It is not a cloud drive with cross-device sync, but a way to preview and edit files already stored on your Box.

FileBrowser uses 512 MB of the 1 GB memory included with Box S. That leaves 256 MB and 8 GB of disk space, so you can fit up to 30 more apps from the catalog. No extra charge, because you pay for the Box, not the apps themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need server administration skills?
No. We handle the container, domain, SSL certificate, and system updates. Click FileBrowser in the dashboard, and within seconds you'll have an address and password.
What if I run out of storage or memory?
You can change your plan from the dashboard, and additional memory is added without restarting the application. You don't need to move your data or set anything up again.
Can FileBrowser run on my own domain?
Yes. Connect your own domain or use the free saploapp.pl subdomain. The SSL certificate is generated automatically.
Who owns my data?
You do. Your data is stored in a dedicated container, not on a shared account. Every day, we make an off-site backup to a data center in Finland on every plan.
Can I run other apps alongside FileBrowser?
Yes. The number of apps and domains in your Box is unlimited. Your plan's memory and disk space are the limits.
What if I don't like it?
Saplo.io is not live yet. We'll add you to the waiting list and let you know when the first Box plans become available.
We are not the cheapest. For 5 € a month, you can get a shared hosting plan that will be enough for a simple website. Saplo makes sense when you want to run your own apps, have SSH access, and avoid sharing your server with a thousand unrelated sites.
