Your own containerA dedicated account, not a shared one
DocuSeal is an electronic PDF document signing solution that runs in your Box. You upload a PDF form template, click the fields to fill in (signature, name, date, checkbox), and send the document for signature. The interface looks like a document rather than a form in a browser, so the signer sees their document instead of a blank page. Template versions, permissions, and signature status remain under your control in the database on your server.
Who it's for- A company that sends contracts and invoices to clients for signature and doesn't want to pay a subscription fee for every signed contract
- A law firm or accounting office that sends forms for clients to complete and collects their signatures
- A sales team that sends a proposal and waits for a signature without having to revisit the document several times
What you get with DocuSeal.

Daily off-site backup in every Box. Starting with Box L, you can restore backups from the dashboard.

Getting started
Just the app, light traffic, one user
Box L
139 € / year
- 6 GB RAM
- 60 GB of storage
- SSH with sudo
- backups for 7 days
Higher usage
More data and more people at once
Box XL
299 € / year
- 12 GB RAM
- 150 GB of storage
- SSH with sudo
- backups for 14 days
Heavy traffic
Multiple apps at once or a service that generates revenue
Box XXL
819 € / year
- 24 GB RAM
- 300 GB of storage

You don't have to guess. Start with a smaller plan, and if you run out of RAM, we'll add more without restarting your app or moving your data.
What else can you fit? on the same Box
DocuSeal uses 2 GB of the 6 GB memory included with Box L. That leaves 3.8 GB and 51 GB of disk space, so you can fit up to 145 more apps from the catalog. No extra charge, because you pay for the Box, not the apps themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Does a signature made in DocuSeal have the same legal weight as an electronic signature made in DocuSign?
It depends on the workflow the document goes through. For agreements between businesses and within a company, an electronic signature on a PDF has the same legal force as a handwritten signature. Some documents, such as notarial deeds and registers, require a qualified electronic signature. Here, no app can replace the certificate, just as no app can replace a wet-ink signature.
Where are the documents and encryption keys stored?
Documents, templates and the ENCRYPTION_SECRET key are stored in the Postgres database and in a volume on your Box. The encryption key is in the DOCUSEAL-SETUP.txt file. Keep a copy, because saved documents cannot be read without it.
Are signing invitations sent automatically?
No. DocuSeal sends the signing invitation by email, but you need to configure SMTP yourself in the container's environment variables. Saplo does not automatically connect the Box mail server to the app. Until you do, you can sign the document, but you have to send the invitation manually.
Do I need server administration skills?
No. We handle the container, domain, SSL certificate, and system updates. Click DocuSeal in the dashboard, and within seconds you'll have an address and password. If you want SSH access, you'll get full access with sudo, but you don't have to use it.
What if I run out of storage or memory?
You can change your plan from the dashboard, and additional memory is added without restarting the application. You don't need to move your data or set anything up again.
Can DocuSeal run on my own domain?
Yes. Connect your own domain or use the free saploapp.pl subdomain. The SSL certificate is generated automatically.
Who owns my data?
You do. Your data is stored in a dedicated container, not on a shared account. Every day, we make an off-site backup to a data center in Finland on every plan.
Can I run other apps alongside DocuSeal?
Yes. The number of apps and domains in your Box is unlimited. Your plan's memory and disk space are the limits.
What if I don't like it?
Saplo.io is not live yet. We'll add you to the waiting list and let you know when the first Box plans become available.
We are not the cheapest. For 5 € a month, you can get a shared hosting plan that will be enough for a simple website. Saplo makes sense when you want to run your own apps, have SSH access, and avoid sharing your server with a thousand unrelated sites.
